I built https://hw.leftium.com, a mashup of https://hackerweb.app and https://hckrnews.com. I also have a bookmarklet to quickly toggle between https://hw.leftium.com and the original version. For keeping track of replies to my own comments, as previously mentioned there's the threads link at the top of the page, as well as https://hnreplies.com/ and https://hnnotify.xyz/. You can also use https://hnrss.github.io/ or http://hnapp.com/ to make RSS feeds of various types. I m that cynical boomer. I use mostly apps like Whatsapp, and garage door opener. Can't use banks apps as you can only login to one account. Everything I do is on the browser. https://hn.premii.com & https://reddit.premii.com - almost 10 years old, it still works. I personally use https://hn.premii.com for the topic on the left and the conversation on the right. Customizing the colors is also nice.
