  • Show HN: An app store just for installable web apps
I m that cynical boomer. I use mostly apps like Whatsapp, and garage door opener. Can't use banks apps as you can only login to one account. Everything I do is on the browser. https://hn.premii.com & https://reddit.premii.com - almost 10 years old, it still works. No need to update the framework or need someone's approval. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Show HN: Hacker News user experience enhancement browser extension
If you don't comment, https://hn.premii.com works pretty good without extension or anything. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Ask HN: How do you view HN?
I personally use https://hn.premii.com for the topic on the left and the conversation on the right. Customizing the colors is also nice. The drawback is there doesn't appear to be a good way to participate in the conversation. How does everyone else ingest HN? - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Apple’s app review prevents developer from submitting fix to game for the blind
Here is a list of alternative UIs for HN: https://blog.luke.lol/tech/hacker-news-alternatives/ Two that display comments: https://hackerweb.app/ https://hn.premii.com/ I don't know how good they are with screenreaders. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: What is the best way to display nested comments on mobile devices?
I really like how Premii[0] does it: minimal indentation, visual cues for thread depth, and ability to collapse current thread to any arbitrary level from any comment. The smooth scrolling is awful though. [0] https://hn.premii.com/#/comments/28385024. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

  • Show HN: Hacker News client with bookmarks stored in Notion
Hackernews has been my main information source for a long time. I used to explore with web clients from https://hnpwa.com/ for modern reading experiences. Cross-device bookmark is always a missing feature for those front end apps. So I decide to make it my own also as my personal project, which is a good chance for me to know about every aspects of launching an app, including UI design, test-driven development,... - Source: Hacker News / 28 days ago
  • I'm aware of TodoMVC, kind of THE benchmark to be able to see how different frameworks solve the same problem and what that code would look like. I wonder, is there another similar project, but slightly more complex? Including authentication at the very least?
This might be a bit controversial but mostly authentication is framework agnostic. Usually the part you care about is access rights which is usually handled by your routing library. But I get what you're referring to. Hacker news and medium are weirdly the alternatives you might be looking for. You can checkout realworld and hnpwa to see examples for those in different frameworks. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Where should I start ?
A really simple project I just finished is building a PWA client for hacker news. I personally used React with Tailwind for mine, but there's a GitHub repo here (sadly archived now) that fully outlines a spec to go off, as well as providing you with an API to fetch the stories from. As you can see from the HNPWA site people have implemented it in many different frameworks, and all have their source code linked on... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Application deployment, web app and mobile apps
Https://hnpwa.com (hackernews PWA) is a cool reference to see how a variety of different frameworks/libraries can be used. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Back to Basics: Building a HackerNews Clone with Marko
I wanted to do a demo that was a bit more substantial than a TodoMVC. Something that had routing and API requests. But not something that was going to be too involved like Realworld Demo. So Hackernews (https://hnpwa.com/) seemed like the perfect fit. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
