Zabbix has been part of my toolbox for quite some time. I can easily say it's an indispensable tool for me now.
Managing a dozen servers without Zabbix would be unimaginable. I'm monitoring all of this: CPU, Memory, Hard-drives, website response times, downtime. The UI might be a bit "old school", but everything works flawlessly.
With regards to hard-drive monitoring, I love the machine learning option that allows you to "predict" the number of days before running out of space. That's quite helpful, as I've got some of my servers down due to running out of space multiple times in the past (before I was using Zabbix).
Based on our record, Helm Personal Server should be more popular than Zabbix. It has been mentiond 24 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
All I can find on the status of Armbian images for Helm v1 hardware is in the farewell message at thehelm.com: "We are still working on firmware updates for v1 servers to run Armbian." I am very much looking forward to having my v1 server running a Linux server so I can repurpose it, and for all other v1 owners to have that same option. I guess it depends on which parts they need to be better. From a functionality standpoint I would list, hey.com, fastmail and icloud as better. mailbox.org is better on being a traditional mail host you access using your own client (no wierd bridge app). hey.com and icloud are US hosted if that matters to you. For the semi selfhosted options https://thehelm.com seems like a really good option. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

There are some attempts: https://thehelm.com/ The problem is that it's not cheap to keep running, if you want it to integrate with the rest of the Net (i.e. Also handle email and such). - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

He suggested that I indeed should set up a home-lab. To be specific he said that I should create a minimal install of Centos 8 and install zabbix server on it (https://zabbix.com) and monitor a whole bunch of other VMs, services and stuff.. He said that I should set up a variety of VMs and also maybe host a website on one of them. And then if I was able to do that, I could help to share a load of zabbix related...
