You won't land yourself a cushy programming job in the first week, you may need to hustle long work weeks and multiple employers, but if you are a trained programmer, you shouldn't have much trouble finding a job, after you take care of yourself. This strategy only works if you have enough confidence in your finances to know that if I gave you a card with 100k credit limit, you would never spend more on it than what you have in your bank and has been budgeted for.
