Did anything change to youtube ads? Not blocked anymore.
I say this everytime when qb + mpv comes up, but in my experience youtube-viewer opens URLs a lot faster than if you would just use mpv (you can test this from the commandline, mpv/youtube-viewer $URL — be sure the appropiately configure youtube-viewer first, so that it directly launches mpv). It also has a pretty nice config for storing youtube-related playback preferences. Source: about 3 years ago

Any way or option to stop the brief pause of audio when opening app/closing app & locking phone?
If you use YouTube for this kind of playback I recommend you trying out SongTube instead, its also open source, has better support for audio, and its UI is also really slick, but it can't import subscriptions just yet, so you'll have to do that manually. Source: about 2 years ago
