  1. It is a nice mini-blog, it's for free and such but

As a mini-blog, it is a nice alternative for Medium to publish and share information about programming.

However, the community and the organization are biased toward social justice (and they are open to it). You can read its Code of Conduct, it is so vague and politically leads (I prefer a term of service because it defines fair rules for everybody). So it alienates developers that we don't care about politics in pro of people that want to talk about any other topic such as sexuality, how women are unprivileged, and such. It even mandates to use inclusive language. Good grief.

My main complaint is the quality of the community. It is not StackOverflow (so we don't want to ask for an answer here), and most of the top topics are clickbait, such as "how to become a rockstar developer in ... days", "100 tips to become a better programmer" (and it doesn't even talk about programming).

Technically this "mini blog" site allows us to use markdown, and it is okay. However, the whole experience is really basic. Even the template is ugly.

  • 24 year old loser with zero friends, no life, useless degree, about to lose my job. Is there any hope for me?
This. Also, there is definitely NO reason OP can't see a therapist/psychiatrist. There's many online tele-medicine options. I use growtherapy.com. All legitimate therapists/psychiatrists. Saved me. Source: 11 months ago
  • Guys I’m at my wits end, and welcome death.
Recently joined https://growtherapy.com/ ... You may want to reach out to them as well. The therapists seem more qualified and experienced than those at BetterHelp(tried them, wasn't impressed). My health insurance is covering it minus the copay ($30/session). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Anyone else having a major issue getting prospective therapists to respond to inquiries?
If you have insurance, you might want to try connecting through one of the agencies that act as a front end for private practitioners as they might be better at matching you to an available therapist. I don't know all of them, and many operate in only certain states, but a few of them are https://www.pathmentalhealth.com/ and https://growtherapy.com/. One of these types of agencies would spare you from having to... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Anyone know any good therapists or counselors in the area?
I found a therapist through Grow Therapy and do virtual sessions through a video chat. My therapist lives in Miami and I really love working with her. Maybe you can find someone on their site. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Punishing myself
I know, real original 🙄, but I had to as this is my inaugural post on Dev.to! I've been toying with the idea of writing a blog for some time now, and figured since I'm starting a new project, this is the best time for it. I've been somewhat familiar with React.js for a while now and wanted to make the jump over to React Native to capitalize on an idea I've had for a few years. I'll be blogging about the progress... - Source: dev.to / 1 day ago
