  Except you can very much buy xbox games (even digitally) from other retailers besides Microsoft. greenmangaming.com and amazon both sell xbox digital games, I'm sure other retailers offer codes too.   I have been trying and failing forever now to get either the Origin or EA app running on my computer. My consistent problem has been that I am constantly told that I am offline even though I am connected to internet and everything else web/internet based on my PC is running just fine, to top it all off I can't even connect to EA.com in chrome to access customer support or any of their solutions.
