Google is the most reliable source for me to find the correct information. Its user-friendly interface and speedy results make searching much easier. From answers to random questions and finding locations, Google has never let me down. Its the first app I turn to when I need information. Highly recommended

What you are seeing is a common representation of "you using your browser(Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari etc..)". Let's say you are searching down the internet for images of cute baby cats. I love IRC but it serves a slightly different purpose. It isn't threaded and it sacrifices permanency for instantaneousness. In my opinion, a forums and chat rooms compliment each other. Saidit is one good Reddit alternative that implements IRC. It's based on Reddit's code but with some modifications. Every page has an embedded IRC box specific to that subcommunity. For Reddit alternatives, it looks like https://saidit.net/ (https://github.com/libertysoft3/saidit) and https://phuks.co/ (https://github.com/Phuks-co/throat) could be viable alternatives.
