In case you don't want to use a local database file or need something more precise than a city's long/lat, I used the openroutservice api for geo coding in one of my recent projects. I used Wanderlog which can suggest you popular locations in a city, if you pay for it you can optimize your itinerary for a day. It has some budgeting capabilities, but it won't suggest you accommodations, flights or transit from a city to another though. Source: over 1 year ago
