  • Ask HN: Modern Day Equivalent to HyperCard?
If he wants to advance in the game space then he can either keep in the "visual coding" area using something like https://www.construct.net/en or start heading down the text coding path with https://godotengine.org/ or https://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php. - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago
  • Tetris Development 1 - Setting Up
Instead, I was recommended Godot by a fellow developer. It is an easy-to-pickup and beginner-friendly open-source engine, which I will use to develop the Tetris game. - Source: dev.to / 11 days ago

  • Ask HN: Yo wants to build a game, I'm lost. What can I do?
Godot [1] is a very nice game engine. There's a game on Itch.io that teaches the scripting language it uses [2], and a ton of great tutorials on YouTube for beginners and experts alike. [1]: https://godotengine.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • My thought on different engines

  • are there any other zoomers on this sub? How did you get into retro gaming?
Https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/ You more or less just download and install and it asks if you want to install all the games otherwise you download on a case by case basis. Source: 10 months ago
  • [PC] [~2015] A truck driver flash game with a twist.
If you can remember that the word truck was in the name then you can try to download Flashpoint, write "truck" in the search bar and see if you can find something there. Source: 10 months ago
  • Where to play Spybotics: The Nightfall Incident in 2023
Since flash is gone its gotten harder to play the game online. I recommend https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/ Flashpoint since it is the restored original flash experience. You do have to download flashpoint but it is free, easy and there's tons of other saved flash games too. There are remakes out there but none will be identical to the original, which you get by using flashpoint. Source: 10 months ago
