Godly Website VS Brutalist Websites

If you are looking for web sites that look fancy like apple.com https://godly.website/ But people here, and myself, are going to tell you that those are not well designed sites. If you can pull off sites like those showcased on godly.website or awwwards, and many of them are or incorporate 3d because it gives them the edge over competition, then you can get any job you want. The market is practically yours because all you compete against is agenecies with outragious fees and you either work for them or freelance for less. If you visit awwwards or godly.website with a few weeks of Threejs under your belt and some experience with React you probably can realise most of what you see there. And if you already have a design background, if this doesn't give you an advantage nothing can. Source: 10 months ago

I typically go to Godly and Awwwards for inspiration, and I find that the Vercel folks like Rauno incorporate a lot of minimalist designs in their own work. Source: 12 months ago

A couple of years back there was this movement called "Brutalist web design" you might be interested in. I can't say I like the style too much but I think there are technical merits to Brutalist web design, accessibility being one of them. Source: about 1 year ago

I also don't really see the brutalism in this, it needs to be raw, louder, have more "attitude" and personality. Don't really know how to explain it, found a website that collect brutalist websites, it should give a better idea of what I'm after. A lot comes down to typography since brutalist design is very bare and raw. A more interesting font (or fonts) and more aggressive font sizes will help a lot for instance. Source: over 1 year ago
