A union in my town is on strike and they've been raising strike funds through a site called Give Butter https://givebutter.com/ and been very successful. One of the things that surprised me is how many members of other unions, some not even in the same industry, donated to the fund. It wasn't always a lot, but it definitely added up. I looked up GoFundMe alternatives and Fundly looks promising. I'm not sure if it will work with your bank (it may not work with PayPal), but it looks like it'll let withdraw the donations at any time. The downside is Fundly charges a "4.9% fee from each donation that you receive and a credit card processing fee of 2.9% + $.30 from each donation.". Source: over 2 years ago
