Here's my two cents: if somebody can look at what makes the online-only parts of the code tick, we might be able to engineer a sort of workaround that makes Payday 3 believe that the servers are still online. An example of the kind of thing I'm talking about is Wiimmfi; the Wii's online servers were deactivated, but there exists a workaround that brings them back to life, as it were. Heyo, ive had tons of trouble with setting up my wiimmfi on my mkwii iso, and I cant find any threads that have helped. Im running a patched iso through usbgx, (2tb hard drive in wbfs) and the core game runs fine, but the wii softlocks at the connecting to wiimmfi screen. Ive tried a bunch of different options with the private server setting, (from off, to wiimmfi, to wiimmfi.de.) ive also tried manually setting... Source: 8 months ago

The mystery gift distribution for the ds titles is not an exploit and I have no idea where that notion came from. Ds and wii fan servers are being deliberately hosted by the guys at wiimfi and, as part of that, they've enabled every past pokemon wifi event. 3ds and wii u multiplayer servers are still up so there's been no need to set up fan servers yet.
