    *small caveat, as much as I love Anubis I'm not super aware of characterization in the original mythology, however, after a quick trip to britannica.com it seems he was more similar to hades as the soul-governor, though apparently he was anciently associated with hermes, no idea why, but he did invent embalming, so enjoy this information.
