Contextually, what you're doing is fine. You're making personal-use invites for a kid's birthday party so I think it's admirable you're hoping for some casual free resources for use. Generally speaking, you're going to likely be looking for each source on a case-by-case basis because there isn't a single go-to large repository of commercial-quality, diverse free libraries of content. I can't help you with costs but I read that MP4s are much smaller than GIFs so you could consider converting any format to MP4 before it's hosted. There's a Linux version of FFMPEG that could be hosted online that could do the conversion. Also, certain sites like Reddit only accept GIF's created on giphy.com, if there's a way around this, I'd love to know. Source: 11 months ago
