If you register a domain name with GoDaddy.com or some other large domain registar and then get a free web hosting account on freehosting.com you get a static IP address as part of the hosting deal. Source: about 1 year ago
I made a website for my ARG using freehosting.com . It was up for the first month that I had the domain, but once I tried to start my ARG, it went down, even though I am paying for this website. I have tried changing my example.com back and forth between http/s inside of godaddy.com and it doesn't seem to be making a difference. Considering that I don't have an SSL cert right now it doesn't make sense to me to use https for... Source: 9 months ago
