   freeCodeCamp grants certificates to candidates after they finishing a topic/chapter which can enrich your portfolio However, if you are looking/preparing for jobs, leetcode is better

If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something.   I don’t think comments make a story more visible on HN, it’s not like https://tildes.net/ My belief actually is that visibility of posts is suppressed if they get, say, 20 comments and already have 50 votes.
