  • Ask HN: Would doing a coding bootcamp be a horrible idea?
Don't do bootcamp. Start with something like https://freecodecamp.org and take a few lessons. Try to build something from that and see how motivated you are. If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something. Start small and stay away from bootcamps (my 2 cents). - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

  • Anyone know any good resources for jQuery?
That said, Jon Duckett has a book which offers a very good introduction to its usage. https://javascriptbook.com/. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Is this a good place to start or should I just focus on JS?
Javascriptbook.com - you can preview the book here. You can also download all the code examples Jon uses in his JS book. People who say the book is outdated and such - the book is awesome because it does a great job of teaching JS. The code files include comments for almost every line of JS. People with no programming background will understand the purpose and reasoning behind every line. Source: over 3 years ago
