Possible disadvantages of Form 2

  • Higher Initial Cost
The Form 2 has a relatively high upfront cost compared to other 3D printers in its class, which might be a barrier for some users.
  • Resin Costs
The proprietary resin can be expensive, increasing the overall cost of operation over time.
  • Post-Processing Requirements
Printed parts require additional post-processing, such as washing and curing, which can be time-consuming and require extra equipment.
  • Limited Build Volume
The printer's build volume is smaller compared to some other 3D printers, which might limit the size of parts that can be printed in a single session.
  • Maintenance Needs

  • Just purchased a Form 3 and found that it cannot print dental resin any more
Not sure where you're looking at that at but the direct homepage the updated Form3 which is Form3+ is 2,499 retails. Ebay itself is a marketplace of individual sellers. What they value it as and see it as is up to them entirely. If you look at formlabs.com they don't sell the regular 3 or 2 anymore. Refurbish Form 3 is there but I'm sure thats the last of whatever is left in warehouse. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I bought a $14K staircase today and it came with a little example model
Or if you need very detailed models, their dlp printer is great too - but the leaders in the resin area are more formlabs (https://formlabs.com/). Resin printing is great for extremely detailed items, but it's generally more expensive and requires more time investment for the parts (prep and post-processing required) - but still definitely hobbyist/casual friendly. • Get Excited and Keep Pushing Through with Rizél Scarlett
Rizél: So I did an internship at a company called Formlabs, and it's like a 3D printing startup. And then, after that, I already had another internship lined up at this company called Veson Nautical. And I ended up staying there and going full time. - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
