FloorPlans.ai can help you accelerate your construction takeoffs, automate your estimates and convert your scanned architectural plans to usable data. Many real estate listings contain floorplans, but they are often missing square footage and room dimensions. These details can be useful for space planning and market analysis (e.g. comparing attributes of competing floorplans). Our floorplan data extraction algorithm automatically extracts room types, dimensions, square footage and features from multifamily unit floor plans. It can be used to supplement listing data and market studies where unit attributes are missing, or to extract data in bulk from many floorplans to build a relational database.
Features Include: Property Floor Plan Area Assessment - Batch process property living areas for tax assessment and automatically recreate 3D spaces based on 2D plans.
Automated Takeoffs and Estimating - Automatically takeoff rooms, doors, windows, and other quantities for construction estimating.
Renovation Project Layout and Budget Planning - Instantly calculate renovation project areas and square footage quantities for budget planning and construction bids.

CAD options on Linux are more limited than windows or mac but they do exist. The industry standard for 2d CAD files is the .dxf file format. I use LibreCAD. https://librecad.org/ The UI is a little clunky and eccentric in places but it is feature complete for 2d CAD drawings. Source: about 1 year ago
You could also try out free AutoCAD alternatives like libreCAD (2D), or brlCAD (2D&3D, I believe). Source: about 1 year ago
It seems like a low risk purchase for $1, however, there are free options available too such as https://librecad.org/ . Or see https://www.reddit.com/r/humblebundles/comments/117ki1c/comment/j9v0v37/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 for an older Autocad clone. Beckercad 2D seems like a niche product so I would probably invest my time learning something that is more mainstream. Source: about 1 year ago
For 2d stuff I tend to use Libra cad Https://librecad.org/. Source: over 1 year ago
