Personally, I bought a basic heart rate strap that connects wirelessly to my PC, and use a free VR app called YUR Fit that tracks the data and gives me an overlay in-game that shows the numbers on-screen as I play. Many fitness games even have built-in support for YUR. If you go this route, make sure that you research which monitors work with what. A good, safe recommendation is a Polar strap.
