I use a KDE derivative, FerenOS. To me personally, KDE has the right amount of customizability and ease-of-use but for the record, I did try out Mint, Zorin OS, Stock Ubuntu, Vanilla OS, Deepin, Pop!_OS, Fedora Linux, Arch Linux, Nitrux, Elementary OS, Puppy Linux and pretty much all of the Linux distros under the sun. Try Feren OS. It's made with windows users in mined and has a Windows 11 Layout. And I think there is a layout called classical which might be what you want as far as the feel. Source: over 1 year ago
I've tried to like Gnome, but I find it a hassle to rebuild things to work the way I want it (nevermind the worry that when things updates, I have to wait and recheck many of the extensions to update or if things breaks). I really recommend trying out more customized KDE experience like Feren, Garuda, or Xero. You may find a UX you like, and then you can just use that as basis with other distro that suits your... Maybe try installing a different distro, as it could be an issue with the installer. EXE GNU/Linux is very similar to Q4OS Trinity, alternatively there's antiX, for example. You would at least be able to see if it's a general problem or just one installer. Source: 6 months ago
