Remember that you can also make an account on other instances if you want to. Do not attach yourself too much to your home instance; it's okay to just make a new account somewhere else if you are unsatisfied with the rules or stability of your home instance. Any stability issues on mastodon.social are noteworthy, but it's important to recognize that it only represents 1,370,000/9,930,000 = 13% of total users, and 387,000/1,790,000 = 21% of Monthly active users. If you don't use Mastodon, it might be easy to assume that the experience would be filled with blackouts or technical issues, but that's not true, if you pick a good instance.
