Many (most?) of them have been overhauled with success. For find there is fd[1]. There's batcat, exa (ls), ripgrep, fzf, atuin (history), delta (diff) and many more. Most are both backwards compatible and fresh and friendly. Your hardwon muscle memory still of good use. But there's sane flags and defaults too. Funk Software's Search My Files (SMF). Uses CRC calculation to find exact duplicates. It does a two stage match up. Files need to be exact size matches, then it does a CRC calc on these files.You do need to be careful as it prechecks by doing spot CRC calculations to speed things up and some files (in my experience e-books) this may be incorrect and generate false duplicates.
