I would honestly recommend using iris/sodium (basically optifine on crack). Stock Java tends to have an EXTREMELY hard time utilizing modern GPUs, so performance tends to be lackluster (i know it sucks to have to use mods to fix the base game, but hey, that’s the beauty of Java mods).
