  • UM690: My short MiniPC Journey and the review bias
So, you're complaining about a company, that hired a second company to host its files for download. Mediafire has been selling file storage / download capability to the internet and businesses, for ages. It's been reviewed by Gizmodo, c/Net, Lifehacker, TechCrunch, and engadget.com, that I know of. • Trump’s free speech app Truth Social is censoring content and kicking off users
How? It's not up and operating yet? There is still a waiting list to join when it goes live. Maybe somebody at engadget.com should research before writing articles. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Why can't I load websites when connected to ProtonVPN? It only loads after disconnecting.
This is from the DNS server on their VPN server not responding to your computer's DNS requests (aka, your PC is asking it what the IP for engadget.com is and the DNS server on their side isn't responding so your PC doesn't know the IP needed to get there). I made a post about noticing this happen at random on the US-IL#60-68 servers but it seems afew others it's happening on as well. Source: over 2 years ago
  • problems loading websites, even Reddit....
I keep getting this warning. Sometimes hitting F5 will load the page fine, sometimes no. I would have to F5 many times for the site to load. it happens on multiple browsers. Here im trying to open engadget.com and petapixel.com. Source: over 2 years ago
  • The soon-to-be new face of blockchain gaming
Recently, holoride had a roadshow in the US and got to show off its In-Car gaming. The experience was really amazing and this even led to R. Baldwin of http://engadget.com giving a review of the experience. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Show HN: Checkers Twist – The game Checkers/Draughts/Dames on an irregular grid
    - some corners will connect less than 4 tiles. This does the opposite of the previous point, as this removes diagonals. This limits your moves in a specific direction, but can also protect you from your opponents. It's the kind of features that can be used both as a defense and as attack. And the boards are procedurally generated, so you can play unique games each time (or you can re-use the same boards if you... - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago
  • On the importance to make games during the game engine's development
That's the path I took with Polygonjs ( https://polygonjs.com ), and a game I've just released ( https://polyreplay.com/minesweepertwist ), with more coming shortly. But it didn't start like that. It only started as a tool I could use to deliver client projects, as I was trying to become a freelance for interactive 3D scenes for the web. Project after project ( some examples here: https://polygon-lab.com/ ), I... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago

  • how can I convert a 3D model into an SDF, a signed distance field
You can have a look how I do it in Polygonjs (which is a node-based design tool based on threejs), in this example scene. Source: 5 months ago
  • ThreeJS capabilities
If you're familiar with Houdini, I invite you to try Polygonjs, which is based on threejs and inspired by Houdini. You can basically build threejs in a procedural way, with just nodes. Source: 5 months ago
