  Usually I recommend linux mint for beginners but hyprland may be a little bit hard to install there. So maybe in your case the best option is an arch based system with a graphical installer. Get Mint or Pop, spend some time with them to learn more about Linux, how Linux works, the various software and tools, how to configure and customize it. You could totally have virtual desktops since Windows 98. You just had to install a third-party application for that. It is no different than having to install, say, Gnome to have a desktop on Linux.
