You might want to try https://easyengine.io. You can install it on any unmanaged VPS you can get your hands on, and you can run it locally if you want to do some local development too. It’s basically a turnkey Wordpress stack and comes with some nice features like server side caching (full page caching + object caching - which caches stuff from the database in RAM - both backed by redis which it sets up for you too). I usually use laragon there it comes with apache server can install php version and has composer built in. https://laragon.org/ also can set up quick app scrpt so on right mouse click will start install process for any php based project you want. Source: 11 months ago

Try out something like https://laragon.org first. It will setup a MySQL server you can easily connect to locally. Even includes HeidiSQL for writing queries and things. Source: 12 months ago
For development purposes I use Laragon which usually spares you the hassle of manually setting up SQL and Apache.
