Same thing u/apastron_society has said works for Word, it is pretty simple. As for an excel spreadsheet I'm not sure I've come across anything like that, but I have used easybib.com throughout my college, until I found out about the Word feature. I rely mostly on Microsoft Academic Search. I find an article I need and then usually Google the exact title followed by filetype:pdf. For example: "Toward creating a fairer ranking in search engine results" filetype:pdf.
