This area only recently, but I think macOS is still behind. When I'm using macOS, I can't stand the GUI without these tools: Rectangle: https://rectangleapp.com/ Easy Move+Resize: https://github.com/dmarcotte/easy-move-resize They move the macOS desktop usability near the place where KDE was in. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
Yep, I find it pretty funny that my #1 favorite desktop UI feature is from Linux. One of the first things I'll put on a fresh install of Windows or MacOS is a utility that re-creates the behavior. I use AltDrag on Windows (requires a quick tweak for HiDPI): https://stefansundin.github.io/altdrag/ And Easy Move + Resize on MacOS: https://github.com/dmarcotte/easy-move-resize. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Easy Move+Resize (free): comfortably move and resize application windows. Source: almost 3 years ago
I've used Easy Move+Resize[0] for this and configured it to Alt+drag windows (like most Linux window managers). [0] https://github.com/dmarcotte/easy-move-resize. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
I've replaced Zooom/2 with this open source tool: https://github.com/dmarcotte/easy-move-resize. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Just switched from logi options to Steer Mouse myself. You can map the buttons and add chords. The only thing it might lack is being able to use mouse movement as a trigger (eg hold the back button and move left to change spaces). I’m eager to try this out, but you might also want to check out Steermouse[1], which is a utility it took me years longer to discover than it should have. I’m not sure how it stacks up to this open source project, but it’s definitely been worth the license cost to me over the years. There are 3rd party apps like Steer Mouse that let you re-assign buttons/shortcuts on a Mac, but I haven’t used them in a long while, so can’t really speak to compatibility. Source: almost 2 years ago
Will I use steermouse to configure the mouse. But didn’t put any specific configuration for arc. Source: almost 2 years ago
Use SteerMouse instead, same developer. Indispensable, if only for the snap-to-default button feature. Source: almost 2 years ago
