Eagle App Reviews

  1. Eagle App Review: good for being productive, can find files very easily

Its very good for managing your reference materials to swipe files. It's not only for designers but for marketers as well!

    👍 Pros:    Organisation|Instant preview|Bulk tagging|Batch processing|Diverse meta search engines.
👎 Cons:    No app for ios
  2. One of the best Digital Asset Management platform

Eagle is one of the best Digital Asset Management platforms I have come across. Being a designer we have to manage ton of images and files day to day, using subfolders may lead to a stressful situation. With Eagle, everything is a lot easier, its interface is intuitive I get to use tags, annotations and categorizing functions to organize all my digital assets all in one place. The added browser extension works flawlessly and makes it easier to manage and save new assets. Also, the pricing is affordable with great value.
Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have your digital assets well organized!

🏁 Competitors: Eagle, digiKam, Adobe Bridge
    👍 Pros:    Digital asset management|Great user experience|Easy to use|Beautiful search experience|Support lots of format|Desktop browser extension|Regular updates|Great value for the money|Cheap price
👎 Cons:    No mobile version|None so far

  • Ask HN: How are you tracking tools / products to try out later?
For several years now, while reading HN and Xitter every day, I've been collecting lots of tools, projects and technical blog posts to "try out later". Most of them are never used, or stop being developed. But quite a few end up resurfacing, or being useful for new projects I start. What do you use to keep track of tools / products you want to try out later? Or for keeping a library of "state of the art" to try at... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Using accesskey attribute in HTML forms and links (1998)
On that note, I think the best app I've seen for button hotkey observability is Eagle (https://eagle.cool) (ironically built in Electron), which uses a simple setup of unobtrusive tooltips that give a label for the button you hover over and whatever hotkey triggers it. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • Am I doing too much??!
Reference a lot. You can mix downtime and breaks with research and study. Watching cool video? Playing nice game? Something sparks your interest? Save it for reference later. I use eagle.cool for that, got a guide on how to use it on my website if you're interested. Source: 5 months ago
  • What is a piece of software that you need but doesn't exist?
For anyone trying to find this, they meant eagle.cool. Eagle.io is very unrelated lol, took me a bit to figure out. Source: 5 months ago
  • Is there any app like Obsidian for visual (art) research?
I use Eagle, it stores the images locally like Obsidian does with markdown files. You can add tags, folders and some other cool features. A few bad things is that you have to pay for the use (which I don’t think it is expensive, close to 30 dollars per lifetime use) and they only have desktop versions of the app. Source: 10 months ago

  • Show HN: Free “Is Website Down”
Designed by https://designmodo.com/ the same company that claims be "Trusted by the biggest players in the game." adobe, nike, Ikea T-Mobile, microsoft, NASA, google.. I am kind of skeptical about their client list, why would any of these companies use their services that are designed for small business owners? - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • How to check if my website is online in Asia?
For a quick check https://onlineornot.com/website-down-checker?url=https://designmodo.com but you probably want a tool that emails you when the website is down. Look for "Website monitoring", there's dozens of services and most have a free tier. https://uptimerobot.com/ https://www.statuscake.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago

  • Online store with woocommerce in 2021?
Yes, is still a good choice to use the woo and wp for a shop. I let you more! Using both you can build a nice SaaS product, for example, https://designmodo.com/ use both platforms to build and maintain their SaaS business. Also, you can find some good shop examples on woocommerce website showcase. Source: almost 3 years ago
