What's the story behind your product?

DragonSec.io's answer

The story behind Dragonsec is rooted in the desire to democratize cybersecurity, making advanced vulnerability scanning and protection accessible to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) without requiring a large budget or specialized IT expertise. Here's how Dragonsec came to be:

The Genesis:

  1. Identifying the Gap:

    • The founders of Dragonsec recognized a significant gap in the market: while large enterprises had the resources to invest in sophisticated cybersecurity tools and dedicated teams, SMBs often struggled with limited budgets and a lack of in-house expertise.
    • They observed that many SMBs were increasingly falling victim to cyber-attacks, as they lacked the necessary tools to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  2. Vision of Democratization:

    • Driven by a vision to level the playing field, the founders conceived Dragonsec as a way to democratize access to high-quality cybersecurity tools.
    • Their mission was to empower SMBs by providing affordable, comprehensive, and user-friendly solutions that could help them proactively defend against cyber threats.

Building the Solution:

  1. Developing the Platform:

    • The development team focused on building a SaaS platform that integrated various essential cybersecurity functionalities, such as vulnerability scanning, subdomain discovery, and port scanning, into one cohesive tool.
    • Emphasis was placed on ease of use, ensuring the platform could be utilized effectively by businesses without extensive IT knowledge.
  2. Continuous Penetration Testing:

    • The team introduced the concept of continuous penetration testing, allowing SMBs to receive real-time updates on potential vulnerabilities and react quickly to emerging threats.
    • This was a significant departure from traditional, periodic penetration tests, offering a more proactive and dynamic approach to cybersecurity.
  3. Real-Time Alerts and Detailed Reporting:

    • To further enhance the platform's utility, real-time alerts were included to notify users immediately of any detected threats.
    • Comprehensive reporting and compliance features were developed to help businesses maintain regulatory adherence and understand their security posture better.

Launch and Growth:

  1. Early Adoption:

    • Dragonsec launched with a focus on affordability and value, quickly gaining traction among SMBs looking for reliable yet cost-effective cybersecurity solutions.

In essence, Dragonsec was born from a passion to make advanced cybersecurity accessible to all businesses, regardless of size or budget, and continues to evolve with a steadfast commitment to this mission.

Netumo's answer:

Netumo started as we saw a gap in the market from online tools that just check uptime and do not check other aspects of a website. It is vital for any organization that manages multiple websites to have a central console where they can see them all and check them not just that they are alive, but their security is fine and that they are truly healthy.
