Well yeah, I mean no one forces you to use Explorer for file management under Windows. I'm an old-time Norton Commander user, and when Windows came around I switched to Total Commander. Now, if you're doing it for real, the best and also most common method is simply, "use a computer". Many computer systems are really, really good at solving these equations and inequalities. You can also graph it and see on the graph every time it crosses zero. You can even do it for free without fancy software.
