Well yeah, I mean no one forces you to use Explorer for file management under Windows. I'm an old-time Norton Commander user, and when Windows came around I switched to Total Commander. There are open-source alternatives too, even cross-platform ones, like this one: https://doublecmd.sourceforge.io/. To get better at #2 pattern recognition, work on fast tactics. Go to chesstempo.com and train with blitz/easy tactics. Do this every day. After a time, I think you won’t need to do the Fritz training (maybe a month or two and you should be good), but do the tactics everyday. It’s your daily vitamin. Source: 12 months ago
