  • Help: Chesstempo site blocked by internet provider. I would appreciate is someone could assist.
Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to chesstempo.com because this website requires a secure connection. Source: 7 months ago
  • Generating chess puzzles with generic algorithms (2022)
I enthusiastically recommend Chess Tempo (https://chesstempo.com/), which will give you interactive chess puzzles from real games that are tailored to your level. Someone else mentioned the similar system on lichess, which is also fine. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • What Board Does thechesswebsite Use?
Does anybody know? There was a post from two years ago about this, and someone commented chesstempo.com, but I can't find the same board there. Source: 9 months ago
  • Organising notes/reviews - 1100ish
I use chess.com to play and I also have an chesstempo.com account which seems to be really good for practicing the openings. Source: 10 months ago
  • I'm sure that this has been asked before
To get better at #2 pattern recognition, work on fast tactics. Go to chesstempo.com and train with blitz/easy tactics. Do this every day. After a time, I think you won’t need to do the Fritz training (maybe a month or two and you should be good), but do the tactics everyday. It’s your daily vitamin. Source: 10 months ago
  • Book Recommendations?
At 400-600, it's all about tactics, basic opening theory, and basic endgames. Find a tactics site like the "puzzles" on chess.com or chesstempo.com. Do puzzles for 30 minutes/day for a month and you'll be at 1000 in no time. Source: 11 months ago
  • The Q&A Megathread for new and beginner chess players
If you're making simple mistakes the general advice is to improve your tactical awareness. There are lots of free resources for this online, eg http://chesstempo.com. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is Chess.com worth the investment to finally pick up consistent learning?
I don't know if I'm making sense. I've been playing chess on and off for years now, but on a very casual level. I've taken months of breaks consecutively and thus I am not very good at the game. I have an ELO rating of about 700 on chess.com and haven't really played online on lichess.org apart from correspondence/bullet matches with my friends. I also have a tactics rating of around 1600 in chess.com and 1700 in... Source: about 1 year ago
  • My dad is ghosting me
One option is chess tactics. Little puzzles, not a full game. link. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Puzzles, etc
I'm going to stay on this track, because I like the commitment. But what do you guys think about puzzles, trivia, etc? I want to do some chess puzzles right now online (chesstempo.com). I was rationalizing this, but then I realized I could probably rationalize RPG games too. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is too much prep endangering my account?
This might be a ridiculous question so sorry in advance, but recently I've taken a break from online games to focus on training my openings (I use chesstempo.com for that) and I've memorized a sickening number of lines (usually 20ish moves in length) with enough branches to equal approximately 700 moves per opening, I'm however a bit scared to hop into matches for fear of being reported for cheating because if a... • Tips for playing
Regarding the opening, it doesn't matter at all when you're learning the game. First of all, learn the basics! Do puzzles (I recommend lichess.org and chesstempo.com) and follow the basic principles (putting your pieces in the center of the board, quick castle). Source: about 1 year ago
  • The Q&A Megathread for new and beginner chess players
Chesstempo.com has puzzles that aren't always mate/check/fork. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How do you memorize certain openings
I go on lichess and create a private study, I analyse the variations and choose my lines, for me it is very important that I analyse everything, try many different moves and lines to understand what I'm doing, then I export the PGN from lichess, go on chesstempo.com and import the PGN there and use their move repetition tool to practice, and when I repeat the moves they also fix in my mind the reasoning I had when... • To your knowledge guys, is there any discord server where I could ask regularly puzzle questions* whenever I'm stuck or don't understand something ?
Both an app and a website on chesstempo.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Doing mate in 1 on Lichess, how does the rating system work?
No, there's no time limit. On chesstempo.com there's "Blitz mode" where time is taken into account. Source: over 1 year ago
  • [Beginner question] where to find resources on reasoning behind openings.
If you are curious about a good study plan, here is a good playlist to follow, the "Beginner to Chessmaster" playlist on the ChessNetwork YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQsLDm9Rq9bHKEBnElquF8GuWkI1EJ8Zp For pure puzzles, chesstempo.com is very efficient. • Chess App Recommendation
Along with lichess, also check out chesstempo.com and https://chess-endgame-trainer.web.app/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I though Gold Accounts were meant to have unlimited Puzzles?
Chesstempo.com has the best puzzle, database and opening trainer experience. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Chessbase and Lichess users: what is the best way to study chess openings?
You can look at their coverage of the top chess events, or look at the video series they do on youtube. You'll probably find some of the best videos on YouTube, but I'd recommend going to Chess24. You'll likely have to go through all the matches in a database. There are plenty of options, but one of my favorites is ChessTempo. It's free, easy to use and it has a great collection of free games and tactics from... Source: over 1 year ago
  • FEATURE REKWEST - Lichess Opening Drills
Third, you can try something like https://chesstempo.com if you download a PGN of your study. Source: over 1 year ago
