The beartaria times app required no development/build from anyone in the bear community. They simply pay for existing tools/infrastructure. Similar to the uatv/vimeo debacle, beartaria times is simply an "app" running on the disciple media platform - disciplemedia.com. Couchsurfing: my preferred way of touring: you get to meet great and likeminded people, you don't have to lug around camping gear (although it's good to bring an indoor-sleeping bag). The site with name couchsurfing.com is broken. But the oldschool warmshowers.org and the new couchers.org are great!
