  • Maybe Alan Moore was Right
This is simply not true. In the 40's and 50's, when Kirby was starting out, comics were read primarily, by which I mean about 95%+, by adults. They may have been pretty sexist at the time, but they sure were INCREDIBLY racist. Go checkout https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/. Kirby and Ditko start showing up in the 50's. Alot of Kirby's WW2 work is still copywrited, but the smaller labels are there. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Any advice for making of four page horror comic?
There are also a TON of short horror comics available in the public domain, one writing exercise I found really helpful was adapting those stories into modern comics. Source: over 1 year ago

  • So, what’s the most interesting book lore you’ve read which distinguishes between ‘high elves’, ‘dark elves’ and ‘wood elves’?
Not a book but a comic, but I've always been fond of the different elves in Elfquest - they are all the same race (in the sense of having common ancestors many generations back) but there is so much diversity. Some live in the desert, some in ice lands, some in the forest, the ocean. Some still follow the ways of their ancestors, others adapted to their chosen homeland. Every tribe of them got a different culture,... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Humble Bundle - Elfquest the Complete Dark Horse Collection
They're on the official elfquest.com site for free. The only stuff not there are the newer stories published by Dark Horse. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Co-worker gifted me a bunch of ElfQuest things even though I’ve never read it
No, but you do have A complete story line. The story continues of course, but the first 8 books are sort of a trilogy (1-4 a complete story, 5-6 a complete story, 7-8 a complete story) and are regarded as the best. Everything after that has mixed reviews. I would just recommend reading the first 8 and if you become a huge fan and you're interested in what happens afterwards, then you can read everything online at... Source: over 1 year ago
  • “Can I be an elf?”
May I present to you one of the (arguably) greatest graphic novel series of all time? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Ending of Future Quest?
I've especially enjoyed Future Quest, so imagine my dismay when the story abruptly ended with nothing resolved. I don't know if this is a mistake - I emailed the folks at elfquest.com to ask, but the emails bounced back - or if it was never completed. Source: over 1 year ago
