Based on our record, Tableplop should be more popular than DiceCloud. It has been mentiond 27 times since March 2021. We will communicate and roll the dice through Discord, but I will need you to make your character sheet on either DnD Beyond,DiceCloud v1 or DiceCloud v2, since we will use Avrae for rolls to make it easier. All players will have a private channel for notes that only they will be able to see. Source: 11 months ago
We've really liked Dicecloud. https://v1.dicecloud.com/ is the link to the original which requires more set up but is more flexible. Source: about 1 year ago
It's got a learning curve because it's super customizable even for other non DND rpgs, but it does DND the best in my experience, but I love v1.dicecloud.com. Source: over 1 year ago
I had a play alarmedley message me to say her character had disappeared. No worries, turns out the main site link now leads to V2, not V1, which has it's own link at https://v1.dicecloud.com/ - but it does have me worried that my party's character's are jeopardised long-term, especially as we have no desire to transfer to the new version. Version 1 will stay up indefinitely at https://v1.dicecloud.com, you can find your old characters there. Source: over 1 year ago
Other considerations --I'm going to use tableplop https://new.tableplop.com/ for the VTT. Just positioning and potentially rolling dice (I also have a 3d dice room) -- no automation. If you're looking for a theater of the mind game, this won't be a good fit -- I like/enjoy battlemaps and tokens and make fancy ones. Source: 7 months ago
I recommend https://new.tableplop.com/ Simple and only took me like an afternoon to get the hang of it. I use dungeon draft for map making and it works pretty good too. Source: 12 months ago
If the group wants we could use some online service for the visual part of the encounters like this service https://new.tableplop.com/ all narration and reply goes here to keep it play by post. Source: about 1 year ago
If you want something simple like Owlbear, what about TablePlop it has the simplicity of Owlbear while having Character Sheets like Roll20. You can send pre typed messages in the chat for rolls, you can do rolls yourself, it even has fog of war. I have been using this ever since it's beta stages and I love it. haven't changed VTTs ever since. Source: about 1 year ago
Currently on https://new.tableplop.com, amazed that it is not mentioned much. Owlbear with just a little bit more while staying simple. Source: about 1 year ago
