Possible disadvantages of Dice.com

  • Limited Industry Focus
While specializing in tech jobs is a strength, it can also be a limitation for job seekers and employers in other industries.
  • Subscription Costs for Employers
Employers need to subscribe to post job listings and access resumes, which may be a financial barrier for smaller companies.
  • User Interface Issues
Some users report that the website interface can be outdated and less intuitive compared to other modern job boards.
  • Competition
Due to its specialization, the platform can be highly competitive, with many qualified candidates applying for the same positions.

Possible disadvantages of SimplyHired

  • Limited Unique Listings

  • Lack of Advanced Filtering Options
Compared to some competitors, SimplyHired may offer fewer advanced job search filters, making it difficult for users to narrow down specific job criteria.
  • Potential for Outdated Listings
Since SimplyHired pulls listings from various sources, there's a possibility of encountering outdated or already-filled job postings, requiring users to verify job availability.
  • Fewer Employer Reviews
The platform doesn't have as comprehensive a database of employer reviews as some other job sites, which may limit users' ability to research potential employers.

  • Can’t find Junior dev job. About to lose it all. What’s a good pivot career?
Get your resume on one of the Resume Review posts. Do more impressive projects. Build a complete full-stack application in React/NextJS, user logins and all. Apply on more than one job site. You most likely are not going to get your job from a LinkedIn Easy Apply. Get on https://dice.com. The postings here are horrendous and mostly 3rd party recruiter garbage, but many of the decent employers search for your... Source: over 1 year ago
  • What remote jobs are you working from Tucson?
I got hired based on a referral from a friend I used to work with, but when I was in the market I used mainly dice.com to search for remote jobs. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best way to find a Blazor job?
Dice.com shows very few Blazor jobs. Like 5 for remote only. I haven't checked other job boards yet. It's time consuming to ask, for every full stack .NET job, the company or recruiter if the company is or plans to use Blazor in the near future. Source: over 1 year ago

  • What kinda job posting is this??
Honestly, Upwork has been great. You might try sharegrid. I have never used that part of their offering, and I don't know how many editor jobs there are there. I guess there is always craigslist. You could try simplyhired.com, 24seventalent.com, and maybe monster.com... Again I haven't searched there in a long time. I am pretty happy with Upwork. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Entry level and mid-level front end web/software developers: Do you use JS frameworks/libraries?
Most of the job posts I see on indeed.com and simplyhired.com list a requirement for ReactJS/Angular/VueJS. I am curious to see what percent of entry level and mid-level front end web/software developers get to use plain JavaScript rather than frameworks/libraries. Please take this poll! Thanks.
