I had to use a different one recently to get a hold of some live music for my dad that wasn't available literally anywhere else. It was called DC++. All of this "it's IRC + (X)DCC but different!" stuff reminds me so much of XKCD #927. Each one is sure their shit is the best, but there's 50 different options and none of them are compatible. 🙄. As has been said, K/s is an indication of transfer speed, and the default SLSK client does not keep track of transferred data for you. However, as there's never a bad time for a Nicotine+ plug, that does keep such stats, both for session and total transfer. Source: about 1 year ago

Please be careful, there are some fake versions of the slsk client out there and they are confirmed malware. The official Soulseek website is http://www.slsknet.org/. There was a previous domain, but Nir (slsk's founder) lost control of it many years ago. I suggest you download a version of the client from this page or better yet download a copy of the third party client Nicotine+. N+ is updated far more... Source: about 1 year ago
