Being one of the product's primary developers, I have a naturally biased opinion. However, I'd just want to state that, while there is always space for improvement, I believe that after 16 years of development, MailArchiva is presently in excellent shape for any firm, small or large, whose needs are aligned with common email archiving or e-discovery requirements.
Based on our record, DBMail should be more popular than MailArchiva. It has been mentiond 4 times since March 2021. Interesting approach. I can’t stand Slack, so not for me. I’ve used Piler to solve this in a production environment generating hundreds of cron emails a day, but saving to a SQLite database or similar the way dbmail does would also be an option. Source: about 1 year ago
