  • A little Kaseya silliness...
Yes, I understand what is happening. The "issue" is that the email appears to have been written more for IT Glue people -- and then someone edited the top portion a bit to be more Datto-specific without really cleaning up the rest of the email (or the sender/from itself). As I said, if you see my Edit, I actually got a new email a few hours later -- that is actually from a datto.com email address and more... Source: over 1 year ago
  • A little Kaseya silliness...
Indeed. And see my edit -- I actually just got an updated email with the same subject that came from datto.com and was really about Datto stuff instead of IT Glue stuff! :). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Cancelling my Datto Services After Kaseya took over: My Story
As I'm getting my stuff ready to present to my attorney, I get an email from [postmaster@kaseya.onmicrosoft.com](mailto:postmaster@kaseya.onmicrosoft.com) that my email bounced due to security or policy settings at datto.com. What the....? For real? C'mon man. I print that email as well as the others, and head off to see my attorney. He looks everything over, looks at me and says "Are all vendors in your industry... • Datto sales guy spammed my phone.
I took advantage of M365's message rules, and set up a rule that all emails from @ datto.com gets forwarded to their support email address. Which then creates a ticket, which then emails me, which then forwards to their support ticket, which then.... well. You get the idea. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Microsoft Patch Tuesday — CyberHoot
In order to stay up to date at all times, it’s important to deploy a cloud-based patch management solution to automatically update software whenever and wherever necessary. Most Managed Service Providers leverage one of the big three Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) solutions (Connectwise, Datto, and Kaseya) for patching their managed systems. These RMM solutions also provide monitoring, and remote access in... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Ask HN: What Are Your Hobbies?
Photography - Specifically, virtual focus synthetic aperture photography. I used to commute via the South Shore Railroad to Chicago, and had about 50 minutes each way with my laptop. Most days, I'd be processing photos. Some are aligned in a focal plane, some are aligned other ways. Here's an old gallery on Flickr.[2] I got into this after seeing a demo of Marc Levoy's work at Stanford, where the demo showed a... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • I just can't believe that they don't know how it really works. This is just way too dim.
Go try Hugin. I have been involved with photography at many levels since 1974. You are wrong but since you have trust issues so try the method they used for a while and see how it works. Source: 11 months ago
  • Course or training for shooting panoramas
Adobe's Ps/Lr photomerge works for most folks, but can be kind of primitive vs. Dedicated stitching software if there are stitching errors you need to correct. If it fails you, you may want to also grab something like Hugin (open source). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Stereocubemaps in Oculus Quest 2
Not a perfect answer but If you convert your cubemaps into top/bottom pano splits you can view them using most of the vr viewer apps on the store. You can do this with hugin. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Which photographers do you admire?
Stand in one place, take several pictures as the person walks/rides across, then use Hugin[1] to align the images, and compost them into the final image with GIMP[2]. If you're more prepared, you could just use a tripod to skip the need for alignment. [1] https://hugin.sourceforge.io/ [2] https://www.gimp.org/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
