For short term rentals, I find airbnb is matching or more than hotels downtown. Torontosuites is the cheapest. It's clean and well run by a family whose owned it for decades. Try to get into their 2 Glen Elm property vs the Lawton one. It's located along subway line #1, near St Clair station and under 30 minutes to downtown. Ambulatory wheelchair user here... Online buy & sell sites, including Facebook Marketplace and ebay, can be your best friend when it comes to replacing your Drive "hospital clunker", as I call those things. It was on the Canadian buy/sell site kijiji.ca that I found my two manual 'chairs, both high-end "everyday" models, used but in great shape and dirt cheap. $50 got me my daily driver, a perfectly good Quickie...
