  • Long-time Couchsurfing user suspended for mentioning "couchers.org" in a private message & remains suspended for not agreeing to ridiculous communication policy
Last month, after mentioning the phrase "couchers.org" (a free alternative to Couchsurfing) in a private message to another user (who said on her profile that she prefers to be contacted there), I was instantly suspended. Source: 11 months ago
  • Why are there no negative references?
Yep, it's an issue with couchsurfing, nobody wants to leave a negative reference. This was actively being discussed in couchers.org. I myself felt pretty uncomfortable leaving a neutral reference once. Source: 12 months ago
  • Warmshowers as a host??
You could also use couchers.org. It's more a follow-up to the broken couchsurfing.com, so a much wider scope. Currently it's free and says it will stay that way, they want to go with volunteer effort. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Airbnb vs Camping
Couchsurfing: my preferred way of touring: you get to meet great and likeminded people, you don't have to lug around camping gear (although it's good to bring an indoor-sleeping bag). The site with name couchsurfing.com is broken. But the oldschool warmshowers.org and the new couchers.org are great! You have to treat this type of hospitality as a gift and not consider it a free service. If you can, hosting others... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Backpacking through the states by train for the first time. Any tips?
Also, I would suggest joining a hospitality org. The best, original one is Servas - www.servas.org - but there's couchers.org, trustroots.org and others. it could help you immensely. Source: about 1 year ago

Google Contacts mentions (145)

  • The desire to replace Google Calendar and Contacts
However, I'm getting stuck at finding a replacement for the web app. You see, I hate phones (nothing personal, and it'd be much better if my phone had a full mechanical keyboard built-in but physics won't allow it), so I type all my stuff on the computer using contacts.google.com and calendar.google.com -> it's synched to my phone and I can check it there (plus, notifications!). So in order to get rid of Google,... Source: 7 months ago
  • I'm a video journalist and just lost my contacts
Usually contacts are synced to Google contacts. They will be automatically loading. If not, check https://contacts.google.com. Source: 11 months ago
  • What are these contacts?
The contacts for your google account are synced to Google contacts. https://contacts.google.com which is linked to your Gmail account. Source: 11 months ago
  • Help removing contacts
If it's a personal one, go to contacts.google.com and remove the contacts from there. You can also remove them from the Contacts app if you're syncing contacts with Google, but just going to the website is more straightforward for removing them from the cloud. Source: 12 months ago
  • Pixel refusing to sync with my google account suddenly
My wife said her contacts disappeared on her 6a this morning. They were definitely still there on contacts.google.com so it must be a syncing issue. Told her to wait it out. Created a contact backup just in case. Source: 12 months ago
