Fosshost C.I.C. is a non-profit UK-registered Community Interest Company (CIC), Limited by Guarantee, without share capital. Launched in April 2020 by founder and present CEO Thomas Markey to provide open-source projects and initiatives access to no-cost distributed cloud computing services.
Today, we help provide world-class hosting services to hundreds of open source projects.
To make this a success, we operate several nodes, which our hosting sponsors usually donate, and the Fosshost Volunteers manage the infrastructure donated to us on behalf of the projects we help. Those open-source projects eligible for our services typically apply for a virtual private server (VPS).
You can apply for all of our services via the application form or read more about the services we offer here.

Since hearing that "somebody named RMS" was going to "change the world by giving away an operating system", I've dreamed of making a lasting, meaningful contribution to the world through my contributions to FOSS. Thomas Markey, and the rest of the team, in creating FOSSHOST, have inspired me to focus my adult life around making that goal tactical.
Fosshost can provides all of the tools a person needs to make this goal their own.
I'm proud to support this project as a volunteer and of my employer for recognizing FOSSHOST along with FSF and SPI as important targets for our charitable giving via a recent email blast to employees.
My software repository for Arch and Arch-based Linux distributions is hosted at Fosshost for almost a year. So far, the experience has been superb. The performance of the Virtual Machine is really really good, the community is super friendly, and they are there to help if any issue arises.
Based on our record, Contabo should be more popular than Fosshost. It has been mentiond 13 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.

Hello! At Swiftpoll -- https://swiftpoll.net (The best polling app on the web! We promise!), we use a combination of Racknerd (https://www.racknerd.com/NewYear/) and Contabo (https://contabo.com/en!) For our Gitlab runners, the metrics server, and the test server, we use Racknerd. For the production server, we use Contabo. Racknerd costs about $10-30 per year per virtual machine. Racknerd runs crazy sales, such as... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
It's most likely a minecraft server detection script. I looked it up and found this, which seems to be what they used, as the name of the script and the username of the account trying to join are both "masscan". Also, they are hosted on a VPS provider called Contabo (you can look up the IP and see for yourself) in St. Louis. Source: over 1 year ago
The VPS provider that I use, Time4VPS has some pretty nice discounts until the 28th of November: https://www.time4vps.com/?affid=5294 (affiliate link) Another already affordable VPS provider, Contabo, also seems to have nice deals: https://contabo.com/en/ (they expire in an hour at the time of writing) The Namecheap domain registrar that also offers e-mail and other stuff has some ongoing deals:... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
