  • Hi! Im a relatively new artist on instagram and ive had a few people ask me for commissions. I have no idea where to start, can anyone help?
Be very careful, scammers tend to target newer accounts. Talk to them as much as possible and ask a lot of questions up front. Don't do any work until you've been paid at least partially. You can set up and direct them to a commissio (a platform that is very secure and protects both artists and clients). Source: about 1 year ago
  • A website dedicated to commissions. Does it exist, and if not, is that something you’d like to see?
Just to add to this, from the perspective of an artist working on building their own brand/fanbase: I feel like listing myself on some of these sites would be antithetical to my goals. I simply don't want to be another drop in the ocean. I want clients to want a piece from me because they associate quality and a one-of-a-kind style with my brand, so I could charge a premium. Listing myself on commiss.io would do... Source: over 1 year ago
  • A website dedicated to commissions. Does it exist, and if not, is that something you’d like to see?
Commiss.io (charges 5% or pay subscription for 0%)-> Was decent as a marketplace and for artists to manage their commissions, but the founding team has kind of fallen apart so there's only one staff member left who seems to be overwhelmed in running the site and goes months without responding to the community or dealing with support requests (including artists not completing work, people can't give refunds without... • What Does Your Ideal Art Space for Commissions Look Like?
Commiss.io though... yeah, that actually looks like direct competition for what I have in mind. The layout I'm envisioning is a little more professional, a lot more searchable, and less like a profile page, but there's enough overlap that I can see this not working out. • Can someone please tell me what this font is called?
It is safe but I recommend go to MyFonts instead. The reviews say that most customers are generally dissatisfied with fonts.com. Source: 11 months ago
  • Safe place to download Beynkales?
Tip for buying fonts legally: get familiar with the big font marketplaces like MyFonts.com, Fonts.com, Fontspring.com, and CreativeMarket.com. When you search Google for a font, i.e. "beynkales font", most of the results will be pirate sites, so just scroll down until you find a link to one of the font marketplaces you know. In this case, I see a fonts.com link in the 9th result, but the rest of the first 10... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Some of the icons from Devicons not rendering properly in neovim despite I'm using nerd fonts
Thanks for that, I am indeed using a font (InconsolataLGC) from nerd fonts.com, however I'm using Kitty terminal to live patch the additional codeicons set in. This worked yesterday, and what I changed was upgrading both nvim and Kitty. Source: about 1 year ago
