Bruh there is nothing good about Texas Tech engineering/cs. Definitely apply to TAMU it is a bit worse than UT for CS, but miles ahead of Texas Tech. TAMU engineering is easy to get into, but requires you to have a 3.8+ College GPA freshman year to be guaranteed the CS major. Use https://collegescorecard.ed.gov since it tells you the average CS salaries for the colleges you're planning to apply to. Source: 12 months ago

Get your scores up and you should be golden for everywhere on your list imo. I would even suggest if your scores go up enough to apply for a few reaches like GT, UIUC, Udub maybe more. Me too, the problem might be that the costs to run queries might be really high? I made some back-of-the-envelope calculations as https://beta.sayhello.so (based on ChatGPT) results are often better than Google, and the energy alone will be really high for the amount of queries I do in Google.
