  • Transfer a domain
Thank you for your response. I admit I was lazy at first. I got a dodgy feeling when I did a renewal for one domain in August 2022, but I figured I would move it before the next renewal. Now cis.net is telling me that I would be in breach of the hosting contract that I first "signed" when I signed up for hosting via a cnet.com promotion back in 2020. Supposedly the contract renews at the same terms and I am not... Source: 10 months ago
  • Who in this group know DOS
I still use dos today. especially when diagnosing network issues. Need to know you router IP address? start / run / type cmd and then ipconfig. It displays your ip address and that of your default gateway (your router). Then simply run a ping to an outside source. I ping cnet.com as I know they will respond. You can run a tracert to cnet.com and it will show your time between hops and where the issue may be... Source: 11 months ago
  • What is the best place to get unbiased news?
Another website I remember scoring well was CNET.com, which was random, but a bonus if you're into tech stuff. In addition to tech stuff (which is of course their main bread & butter), they'll cover things going on in the news (ex: legislation, Covid, world news) as big things come up. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is a personal blog the best way to promote your Software Projects in 2022?
I wonder about this too...because of the competitiveness of getting eyeballs on the internet--you need 200,000 impressions/view per day with Google AdSense to your site to make around $70K / year--I tend to think that it is very difficult to get your blog viewed, given how much traffic-driven websites really need the views. Thus, you should probably try to use a downloadable software website like amazon.com or... Source: over 1 year ago

  • should i play definitive or original version?
Definitive Edition has some quality of life features the original doesn't have (for example, checkpoints and GPS), and the bugs in the Definitive Edition aren't nearly as bad as people make them out to be. When I played through it I didn't encounter anything major. As for performance issues, all I can say is that I played through the game on an Xbox One S the December after it released and it was fine. If you're... Source: 5 months ago
  • Can my pc run this game?
According to pcgamebenchmark.com , I can run the game, but according to systemrequirementslab.com I cannot because of the graphics card and CPU. What do you think considering the specs below? Thanks. Source: 9 months ago
  • PC gaming virgin on a budget (UK)
I'm pretty clueless when it comes to pc gaming. I know that for the latest games I'm likely looking at around £1k budget, and this is not something I have right now. I've been looking at second hand laptops or desktops, and using https://pcgamebenchmark.com to see what games they might run (no idea how accurate this is), and it looks like I could easily play most total war games on a second hand laptop or desktop... • Can my laptop run it?
Hi, I need advice here, so I look at pcgamebenchmark.com and it says my laptop can run it. However when I go to steam to purchase the game, I noticed that the minimum specs is different. I'm actually interested in this game but I've a not so good laptop specs. What do you guys think? Source: about 1 year ago
  • should I get Forza Horizon 4 or 5?
And my PC has an i5-9400f, GTX 1660 Super and 16 GB of ram, pcgamebenchmark.com said that mine can run FH5 at recommended or higher settings. Source: over 1 year ago
