I imagine fff marks many files, handles multi-file creation/deletion, moving, copying, etc. This file manager will only be made to mark a single file which is just the last file/directory you interacted with. If you need a batch file editor or something like that, this definitely will never compete there. I just want it to be super minimal, clean and efficent. Clifm is also worth mentioning because it gets the basics very right. Just hitting numbers to navigate is really cool. I personally couldn't extend it very much though. Source: almost 2 years ago

For me, the main program missing is "lf" the ranger inspired terminal file manager. 5000 stars on Github, packaged in the official repos for basically anything under the sun except Fedora and a key part in my day-to-day workflow. https://github.com/gokcehan/lf. Source: about 1 year ago
