  • The Official MTA App
I live and swear by Citymapper[0] for all cities that it supports. No other app I've used has been as good for public transport as Citymapper has been. I really hope one day one of these city transport organisations either buy it out, push for it, or license their tech. [0] https://citymapper.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 26 days ago
  • WWC Sydney
I’ve had an easy time getting around in Sydney by public transport using Citymapper. Source: 11 months ago
  • Am I weird?
We do! Citymapper often will tell you what door to get on for the best exit, depending on whether there's data available for that journey. Source: 11 months ago
  • Google maps should add a feature for train or bus trips to have your phone vibrate a few stops before yours, thereby allowing you to take a quick nap without worrying about missing it.
Citymapper does this really well. It also tells you where to sit on the train to be nearest the most convenient exit at your stop. Source: about 1 year ago
  • DART commuters, how far do you have to walk each day?
But by way of encouragement maybe, the area near my office—off Irving Blvd and Medical District Dr—is not pedestrian friendly by any stretch. Google Maps will give you worthless, even dangerous bike routes. Citymapper is a bit better, but really what I found paid off was spending some time studying maps, aerial and street-level imagery, then a weekend morning doing some testing and exploration. • App LIST!!!
Tyke (Free) Not a trike but a tyke! (I'm so sorry)... A little bit of scratch paper 📝 that lives on your Mac menu bar. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Quick notes or extension? (Or: Tyke for Linux?)
I'm moving to Linux/Gnome from macOS. There is a little app for Apple's OS that I use a lot: Tyke. It's utterly simple, basically an icon on menubar that holds a text field where I can't type or paste anything I want in plain text. When I reboot the system, it vanishes. Source: over 2 years ago

I use the free Tyke all the time. Don’t mind at all that it has few features. https://tyke.app/. Source: almost 3 years ago
